I am a Rappahannock County, Virginia artist exploring themes connected to animals, rural life, and the land. I work mainly in watercolor and gouache, but enjoy experimenting with other mediums. My past work, especially the many pet portraits I’ve done, has been highly realistic. These days, I’m exploring in a more abstract direction, seeking to incorporate more emotion and expressive freedom in my work.

I sketch and paint on location regularly, mostly around Rappahannock County and Shenandoah National Park. If you happen to see me out and about with easel or sketchbook, please don’t hesitate to offer a properly social-distanced greeting. I maintain a working studio at Gallery 3 in Sperryville, Virginia (not open to the public at this time).

In 2020, the impacts of COVID-19 have caused me to re-evaluate my priorities and I decided to retire and make art purely for my own enjoyment. Thus, I am no longer teaching classes or workshops nor accepting commissions.

I sometimes share my work on Instagram or post the occasional demo or tutorial video on my YouTube channel (links below).
